We Are shares insights at Solid Symposium: health, data, and ethics in focus

At the recent Solid Symposium 2025 in Leiden , researchers and experts gathered to discuss how citizens can gain more control over their personal data. The We Are project was present with several presentations that bridged the gap between technology, ethics, and practical applications related to health data.

Colleagues Charlotte De Clerck, Beau van Gemert, Elfi Goesaert, and Frederik Byl each gave strong presentations from their respective areas of expertise, focusing on privacy, data interoperability, and the role of citizens in digital health solutions. Colleague Bart Buelens organized a thematic session on “how to become a pod provider”, which drew a great deal of interest and engagement from the audience.

The presentations illustrated how the We Are project continues to work towards a safe and transparent approach that enables citizens to manage and share their own health and wellbeing data — on their terms.
